Now that the days are getting shorter and temperatures begin to drop, it’s time to bring the beauty of fall into your home. This can be done by creating a beautiful fall centerpiece, decorating with foliage, or even creating a corn garland.
Centerpiece
A centerpiece, whether on your coffee table or in your dining room, is a simple way to make a big impact. To create a beautiful centerpiece, you’ll need class containers, ribbon, pinecones, nuts, and beans. You can take two different colors of beans and place them in a glass container, and use a ribbon to tie a bow at the top of the container. You can also place an assortment of ribbons in a glass container, then nestle pinecones in the ribbon. Either of these only takes a few minutes to put together, and will leave you with a centerpiece that everyone will love.
Decorating with Foliage
Another way to give your home a warm fall feeling is by adding some decorative foliage to an open bookcase. Simply take some silk fall leaves, which you can find at any local craft store, and press them inside a picture frame, or strategically place them along the shelves. You can also create a beautiful front door fall wreath by using a wicker woven base, assorted fall leaves, and a hot glue gun. All you need to do is space out the leaves and use different colors, then use the hot glue gun to attach them to the wreath base.
Corn Garland
A rustic garland made from ears of corn and dried husks is a great way to capture the fall charm. Hooks can be created by twisting small eye screws into the wide end of each ear of corn. Next, bend the husks into loops and use hot glue to seal the pointy ends together. Lastly, string the ears onto twine, and alternate with corn husks as you go. This will make a beautiful decorating for your front door.
Natural Colors
One of the best things about fall is the changing colors. These natural colors can be used as quick, easy décor. Take a couple white vases of various shapes and sizes and fill them with different color leaves. The colors of the leaves will pop against the white and different shapes and sizes will add some variety.
Fall is right around the corner, and there are many great ways to decorate your home for this season. The best part is that most of the time you don’t have to go farther than your neighborhood for materials.
